How much does the app cost?
Kurvenfokus is currently in beta (around 2–3 months). During this time, all features are fully available and free — no subscription, no hidden costs, no account required. We'll let you know in good time about pricing after the beta.
What data is collected?
None. Kurvenfokus only processes the GPX file you import yourself. Everything runs locally on your device. There is no account, cloud sync, or transfer of data to servers.
Is there an Android version?
Yes — Kurvenfokus for Android (v0.0.18) is in open beta and anyone can download it free from the Google Play Store. Individual iOS features (such as route matching and the iPad layout) will roll out gradually.
Which apps can I import from?
Kurvenfokus imports GPX files from all common apps: Calimoto, Komoot, Motobit, Garmin Connect, Wahoo, Strava, and every other app that supports GPX export. FIT, KMZ, and KML are supported too.
How do I import a ride?
Open the hamburger menu (☰) and tap 'Import'. Select a GPX, FIT, or KMZ file from the Files app, via AirDrop, or from another app. You can also drag and drop straight into the ride list.
Which file formats are supported?
Kurvenfokus supports GPX, FIT, KMZ, and KML. Most GPS devices, Garmin devices, and navigation apps can export these formats, including Calimoto, Komoot, Motobit, and Garmin Connect.
What does 'Max Lean' mean?
Max Lean is the maximum lean angle calculated from GPS data (speed + corner radius). It's a physics-based estimate, not a sensor measurement. It works great for comparing rides.
Can I use Kurvenfokus while riding?
No! Kurvenfokus is only for analyzing rides afterward. Never use the app while riding.
What is the corner detail view?
Tap a corner marker on the map or a corner chip to see an individual corner in detail. The map zooms to the corner and shows all the detail KPIs: entry speed, apex speed, exit speed, Max Lean, and direction.
How do I change playback speed?
Tap the speed button (0.25x–20x) or swipe vertically on the timeline. Swiping up increases the speed; swiping down decreases it.
What are pause markers?
Stops longer than 30 seconds are automatically detected as pauses and shown as coffee-cup markers on the map and timeline. Tap one to jump to that point in time.
Why are lean-angle values inaccurate?
The lean-angle values shown are calculated estimates from GPS data, not exact measurements. GPS noise, poor reception, or very slow corners can affect them. Use them as a guide and for comparison.
You have the right to withdraw from this contract within fourteen days without giving a reason. The withdrawal period is fourteen days from the day the contract is concluded (when the subscription is purchased).
Early expiry: Your right of withdrawal expires early if performance of the contract (pro features being provided) has started and you have expressly agreed to it (§ 356 (5) German Civil Code).
